BILLETING
All Rockies players are billeted with local families and room and board costs are paid directly to the Rockies. The billet families are then reimbursed by the hockey club. Cost of billeting is currently $ 350 per month. Billet families are carefully selected to ensure that the players are provided with a healthy family environment.

PRACTICE
Practices are held five days a week for one and a half hours per day. The availability of ice time is essential to a player's development and improvement. Practice is scheduled so that school classes are not interrupted. The Rockies also have an extensive off-ice training program. A paid membership is given to each player to attend the “Valley Fitness” center.

SCHEDULE
The KIJHL is comprised of 16 teams in two divisions; Realignment is currently taking place and Division names and teams have not been finalized. The Rockies will play a schedule of approximately 50 games plus playoffs. One of the most important factors in scheduling is limiting the number of school days that will be missed due to travel.

TRAVEL EXPENSES
The KIJHL regular season is a 50 game schedule. Games are played mainly on weekends; the few mid-week encounters involve teams who are geographically nearby. When the Rockies are on the road they use a first class bus operated and cared for by a professional driver ( J.C). A player's traveling costs, meals and accommodations are paid for by the Rockies.

PART-TIME WORK
The Rockies have a couple of employment ventures that we operate and which provide players with employment opportunities and apprenticeships. Also during fall and winter months many local businesses assist players with part-time jobs that fit within the other time demands of practice, school and road/home games.

EQUIPMENT
The Rockies cover many of the expenses incurred while you play junior hockey. The Club provides equipment and supplies such as helmet, pants, gloves, sweater and socks as well as the sticks, skate laces and tape you require.

MEDICAL
The general health and well being of each player is a major concern with the Rockies staff. Our professional training staff headed by Maria Dibb monitors each player’s health. She oversees all players’ medical conditions in conjunction with the community health care professionals in Invermere. The Club is insured through the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association. Medical expenses due to hockey not covered by BC Medical will be paid by our coverage. Arrangements are made with local doctors to take out-of-town players as their patients. In addition to our training staff we have a health care professional in attendance at all of our home games.
