Julian Fraser scored for the Rockies

The Kimberley Dynamiters hosted the Columbia Valley Rockies Saturday night and peppered goalie Cam Dagg with 56 shots as he surrendered eight goals en route to an 8-1 win for the Dynos.

Kimberley’s scoring machine, Corey Allen collected three points in the win, as the Dynos swept the three star selections – Allen, Matt Foster and Trevor Grier taking the honors.

The first period was Kimberley putting their work helmets on and working towards getting two points – as Allen scored at 16:44, Foster at 13:10 and Grier at 9:41 as Kimberley built a 3-0 lead.

The Rockies lit the lamp behind goalie Michael Smith at 6:30 – Julian Fraser scoring from Mike Vaughan and Zack MacLellan and the period ended 3-1 for the home Dynos.

In the second, the Dynos fired 29 pucks at goalie Cam Dagg, denting his armor five times to stake out their 8-1 lead.

For the game, the shots were 20-29-10 for 59 total for Kimberley, the Rockies were 9-9-11 for 28.

In a rare goalie fight, Cam Dagg broke across the red line to trade punches with Smith at 1:56. Regular starters Jeff Magee and Tory Caldwell mopped up for the combatants.

The Rockies host the Grand Forks Border Bruins today at 1:00 pm at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena. The Invermere Atoms will be playing an abbreviated game during the first intermission. Always great entertainment when there is action at the Eddie!

See you at the rink!
