Kevin Dunlop scored twice for the Rockies

The Columbia Valley Rockies had the lead through two periods of play against the Golden Rockets, but succumbed to a strong attack and fell 5-2 in Golden last night.

The Rockies power play led the charge with Kevin Dunlop scoring at 11:37 of the first period from Julian Fraser and Mike Vaughan as Columbia Valley staked out a 1-0 lead after twenty minutes.

In the second period, Dunlop bulged the twine again at 5:02, unassisted as the Rockies managed the two-goal lead.

The Rockets applied pressure in the opening two periods, but couldn't slip the disk past goalie Jeff Magee.

In the third, it was all Rockets as they counted five unanswered goals, one on the power play, and ended with a 5-2 win.

The Rockies are on the road in Kimberley tonight and host the Grand Forks Border Bruins Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm.

See you at the rink!
