Rockies complete trade with Ghostriders
The Columbia Valley Rockies have received the playing rights of Darrell Boldon and Matt MacDonald from the Fernie Ghostriders through a trade that was made earlier in the season.
The organization will count on both veterans for leadership, as this is their third year in the KIJHL.
In Boldon, no stranger to the Rockies faithful, the Rockies get a proven point getter in the KIJHL, tallying 53 points in 49 games last year, finishing third in scoring on the Fernie squad.
In MacDonald, the Rockies get a forward who produced 34 points in just 26 games before an injury cost him the rest of the season.
What it takes to be a billet home
As a Rockies Billet the following is requested of you:
*Provide a bed and adequate food with regular cooked meals for the players. These kids are athletes in training and do eat a lot and are careful of what they put in their bodies. Pastas, high fibres and meat products are staples of their diets. They are self sufficient teenagers, but do require some regimen to their eating habits and family dynamics.
*The athletes are to be considerate of your family rules and we try our best to place our athletes with families of similar values.
The Columbia Valley Rockies have been a community run organization since we entered the Kootenay International Junior Hockey league in 1978. One main challenge for the organization is finding quality and suitable homes for the players. For many of these players, this is the first time away from home.
